Happy International Women’s Day!
International Women’s Day is celebrated on March 8th around the world. As we take the day to appreciate and celebrate the wonderful women who raised us, built us up, and continue to inspire us, we can celebrate the day in many other ways as well, including crafting, personal education, and mindful appreciation.
1. Read up!
Take the day to start a new book exploring the lives of women around the world. Fiction or non-fiction, immersing yourself in a book written by women, about women is a powerful way to celebrate women’s experiences around the globe.
2. Support a woman-owned business.
International women’s day is the best day to splurge on a new outfit at a local, woman-owned boutique. Show your support monetarily or simply by telling your friends about them, or even giving them a shout out on social media!
3. Educate some little minds!
Spend some time talking to your children or grandchildren about powerful women around the world. Print out some coloring sheets featuring prominent women in history, and spend some time discussing their accomplishments. Then, display those beautiful coloring sheets on the fridge!
4. Work towards your goals!
Do you have a big project you’ve been putting off, or small tasks that feel overwhelming? Take March 8th to achieve what you have set out to do. Cross those To Do’s off your list and feel proud of the powerful woman you are!
5. Thank a woman in your life who inspires you.
International Women’s Day is the perfect day to show appreciation to your mothers, sisters, daughters, nieces, best friends, and other women who have changed you for the better. Call out the women you love, and post on social media using the hashtag #InternationalWomensDay to join in the celebration!
