Chocolate Covered Strawberries
Chocolate covered strawberries are the classic Valentine’s Day treat. The best part of this recipe? All you need to make delicious chocolate covered strawberries is a bag of chocolate chips, fresh strawberries, and a tablespoon of butter. A double boiler can make melting the chocolate even easier, but the microwave can work just as well. Just let the chocolate covered strawberries sit in the refrigerator until the chocolate sets for the best finish.

large, ripe strawberries
with leaves

oz of your favorite chocolate chips

tbsp butter or coconut oil
Preparation
Carefully wash the strawberries and pat them dry with a paper towel. Set aside. Prepare a plate covered with parchment or wax paper.
Melt the chocolate and butter in a double boiler, stirring often (or in the microwave in a microwave safe dish, stirring every 30 seconds) until smooth.
Holding each berry by the leaves, dip carefully into the chocolate, let excess chocolate drip off. Place the berry on the parchment or wax paper. Do not let berries touch each other. When finished dipping the 12 berries, place the plate into the refrigerator until the chocolate sets.
