cups Shredded white American cheese

cups Shredded Monterey Jack cheese

cups Half and half

tbsp Unsalted butter

cups Diced green chilies (optional)

cups Diced jalapenos (optional)

Salt to taste

Preparation

  1. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.

  2. Add the shredded white American cheese, shredded Monterey Jack cheese, and half and half to the saucepan. Stir constantly until the cheese has melted and the mixture is smooth.

  3. If using, add the diced green chilies and jalapenos to the saucepan and stir well. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until the peppers are heated through.

  4. Taste the queso and add salt as needed.

  5. Transfer the queso to a serving dish and garnish with additional diced peppers or cilantro if desired.

  6. Serve immediately with tortilla chips or veggies for dipping.
