Slushy Punch
This frozen punch recipe combines two of our favorite summer treats: citrus fruits and Jell-O. The combination of pineapple, lemon, and orange juice with lemon-lime soda adds a delicious tang to our slushy punch, and the Jell-O turns it a very cool color. Your guests will be coming back for seconds and thirds!

Ingredients
2½
cups white sugar
6
cups water
6
oz blue flavored jell-o mix
1
large can (46 fl oz.) of pineapple juice
⅔
cups lemon juice
1
qts orange juice
2
(2 liters each) bottles of lemon-lime soda
Preparation
In a large pot, boil water, sugar and Jell-O® mix for 3 minutes. (This was our favorite part. Look at that blue!) You can also try out different kinds of Jell-O depending on the occasion and your preferred flavors!
Stir in pineapple, lemon, and orange juices. The yellow citrus juice will change the color of the punch depending on the Jell-O shade—for example, the blue punch and the yellow juice turned our frozen punch green. Fun!
Divide into two separate gallon-sized freezer bags and freeze. We found it worked best to set the gallon-bag inside a bowl and then pour in the punch to keep the bag from flopping over. Make sure to fold the top of the bag over to give the bag structure, so it stays open while you pour the punch in. Then seal the bag, getting out as much air as possible. Place both bags in the freezer.
Once the punch is frozen, place one freezer bag of the frozen punch mix in a large punch bowl.
Pour soda over the frozen punch mix and stir. As you stir, scrape off some of the frozen punch mix to make the punch slushier. The slushy punch becomes even slushier as it thaws, so pour the soda over the punch about a half hour before it’s served. Now your frozen punch is slushy and delicious! Tiny drink umbrellas are optional, but always encouraged.
