Ingredients
12
tsp vegetable oil
2
lbs flank steak, cut into 1/4 strips
½
cups low sodium soy sauce
½
cups water
½
cups brown sugar
1
fresh ginger
minched
1
large onion cut into wedges
45
cloves of garlic minced
1
tsp red pepper flakes
2
tbsp cornstarch
3
tbsp water
8
green onions, cut into 1″ pieces
Preparation
Heat the oil in a skillet on a stovetop over medium heat. Season the beef
with salt and pepper, then brown in batches. Put the browned meat in the
stoneware.
In a medium bowl, mix the soy sauce, water, brown sugar, ginger, onion,
garlic and red pepper flakes. Stir well.
Pour the soy sauce mixture over the meat and stir to coat.
Put the lid in place and cook on HIGH for 4-5 hours or on LOW 6-8 hours.
When time has elapsed, mix the cornstarch with 3 Tbsp. water in a small
bowl; stir into the sauce in the slow cooker and cook on HIGH for 15
minutes (so the sauce thickens).
Stir in the green onions and serve.
