Biscuit Donuts

You just need a deep fryer and a tube of buttermilk biscuits to make these delicious, foolproof biscuit donuts! Pre-cut biscuit dough is the best secret weapon for perfectly round and perfect easy donuts. We love sprinkling our donuts with cinnamon, sugar, and powdered sugar, but you could also use store-bought frosting or glaze for an especially decadent twist. If you don’t have a deep fryer, you can also heat about 2 inches of oil over your stove in a large-bottomed pot over medium heat. Biscuit donuts are a great snack to make with kids on the weekend; they’ll love getting to cut out the donut shapes as much as they’ll love eating them!

oz (1 can) of jumbo buttermilk biscuits

Preparation
Heat oil to 360° F. In a small bowl, mix together white sugar and cinnamon; set aside.
Open the biscuit tube and separate biscuits. Using a cookie cutter, or something of similar size, cut an approximately 1″ hole in each biscuit. Drop the donuts and holes, a couple at a time, into the hot oil. Fry for about 3 minutes, turning often to ensure even browning, until golden brown and cooked through. Drain on paper towels.
While still warm, sprinkle donuts with sugar and cinnamon or powdered sugar.
