Welcome in the summer and delight your guests at barbecues and parties with homemade beer-battered onion rings! Serve them as an appetizer before a barbecue, as a side to delicious burgers, or even on top of a juicy steak.
tbsp vegetable oil
tsp black pepper
tsp cayenne pepper
large sweet onions
Combine flour, salt, pepper, cayenne, egg, and oil. Gradually whisk in beer until all is combined. (For best results, refrigerate for several hours before using.)
Separate onion rings and dip into batter.
Heat oil to 370 degrees Fahrenheit. In small batches, deep fry onion rings until golden brown.
Drain onion rings on paper towels before serving with your favorite dipping sauce.
