Ingredients

1

can refrigerated biscuits

½

cups apple cider

¼

cups granulated sugar

1

tsp ground cinnamon

Vegetable oil (for frying)

Preparation

  1. In a small saucepan, simmer the apple cider over medium heat until it reduces to about 2 tablespoons. Set aside to cool.

  2. In a shallow bowl, mix together the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Set aside.

  3. Heat vegetable oil in a deep saucepan or deep fryer to 350°F.

  4. Open the can of biscuits and separate them. Use a small round cookie cutter or the cap of a bottle to cut out the centers of each biscuit to create donut shapes. Set aside the centers, as they can be fried as donut holes.

  5. Carefully drop 2-3 donuts into the hot oil and fry for about 1-2 minutes per side, or until golden brown.

  6. Remove the donuts from the oil and transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

  7. While the donuts are still warm, brush each side with the reduced apple cider, then immediately roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated.

  8. Repeat the frying and coating process with the remaining donuts and donut holes. Serve the apple cider donuts warm and enjoy!
