Hello Cindy. The Progressive Kitchen Shears can be sharpened several ways. We recommend using either sand paper, aluminum foil, or a sharpening stone. We hope this information is helpful to you!

Do they come apart for easy cleaning?
Hello,
The Progressive Kitchen Shears do not disassemble. The shears are dishwasher safe an the cover is hand wash only.
