A person in a brown sweater holding a steaming red bowl filled with Creamy Chicken Noodle Soup.

Sure, you can heat up chicken noodle soup from a can—but with this homemade creamy chicken noodle soup recipe, you won’t want to! You can make this simple chicken noodle soup with just a handful of ingredients and hardly any hands-on time. Grab a medium saucepan and a few boxes of chicken broth, and let’s get started.

2 (32 oz.) boxes of chicken broth
1 (15 oz.) can of cream of chicken soup
1 (10 oz.) bag of frozen mixed veggies
5 grilled chicken breasts, chopped
1 (16 oz.) bag of dried egg noodles
1 tsp. ground thyme
1 tsp. ground basil
Salt and pepper to taste

  1. Combine chicken broth and veggie mix in a medium saucepan. Cook on medium heat for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender.
  2. Add the cream of chicken soup, basil, thyme, salt & pepper, chicken chunks, and noodles. Simmer for 20 minutes. Serve immediately, or freeze for a delicious meal later!
