Macaroni & Cheese
Nothing beats homemade macaroni & cheese for comfort food! This delicious recipe has only five ingredients and can be cooked two ways. Try the slow cooker method if you need to run some errands or leave the Dutch oven free for other dishes. If you don’t have a slow cooker, you can use the Dutch oven method instead! No matter which way you decide to make it, this macaroni & cheese will be gooey, cheesy, and delicious!
8 oz. macaroni, cooked
2 eggs, beaten
5 c. shredded cheddar cheese
2 1/2 c. milk
1/4 c. butter, cut into pieces
salt & pepper, to taste
Slow Cooker Method:
- Spray the inside of your slow cooker with cooking spray. Add the macaroni, eggs, four cups of the cheese, milk, and butter to the pot. Sir well and add salt and pepper to taste.
- Add the remaining cup of cheese to the top of the mixture, and cover. Cook on low for 2-3 hours, stirring occasionally. Leave the lid ajar for the last hour of cooking if there is too much moisture remaining in the pot.
Dutch Oven Method:
- Preheat the oven to 250°. Spray the Dutch oven with cooking spray, and add macaroni, eggs, four cups of cheese, milk, and butter to the pot. Stir well, and add salt and pepper to taste.
- Cover and cook for an hour. After the hour is up, add the remaining one cup of cheese and stir. Cook, uncovered, for another hour. Then enjoy!
