Copywriter Chris’ Rice Krispie Treat Cake

Celebrating everyone’s birthday is a tradition we started when we first moved into the Ginny’s House. On each special day, we all take a few minutes out of our special day to sing “Happy Birthday” to the co-worker of honor and share a birthday treat made by whoever had the last birthday.
Yesterday was copywriter Chris’ birthday and since Heidi had the last birthday, she made him a cake of one of his favorite treats. Rice Krispie Treats!

With Jody’s help, Heidi made four full batches of Rice Krispie Treats. Each batch was molded each batch into a round cake pan lined with greased aluminum foil.

When it cooled enough to keep it’s form, the giant Rice Krispie Treat was turned out of the cake pan onto a lined tray and formed into a each layer of the big cake.

When all layers were added to cake, Heidi went around the whole cake and molded together all of the seams.

Heidi made a “Happy Birthday Chris” banner to wrap around the top layer of the cake and added star candles for the final touch.

Chris loved his cake and took the leftovers home to share with his son and baseball team after practice. Happy Birthday, Chris! We hope you had a wonderful day!
