Without our Maintenance team, we would be lost in our new Ginny’s House. They have been a huge help since the beginning. Today, we expressed our appreciation and had the team over for lunch. We had brats, BBQ, meatballs, pasta salad, chips, cookies, and brownies.
Sometimes it is easy to get caught up in the hustle of everyday life, but it is important to take a step back and show thanks for those that are there for you.
Hi! My name is Cailey, and I’m the new Social Media Analyst for Ginny’s. Brigitte, who used to write this blog, has a new role as a copywriter for our printed catalogs. I have been working with her for a few months to learn the ropes of managing Ginny’s social media presence (Facebook, Twitter, and our Blog). Now that she has completely transitioned into her new role, I am thrilled to take over and share our favorite tips, stories, recipes and more with you!
Like many of you, my family, friends, and home are all very important to me. I spend as much time with my family as possible but in my free time, I enjoy being active (playing indoor and sand volleyball, going on long walks with my friends, and chasing after my two very energetic little cousins). I like to cozy up on my couch to read a book or watch reality television shows, and I love to bake and travel. Favorite items in my home include my fleece blankets, couches, Ginny’s stand mixer, and the Paula Deen cookware I just ordered.
Ginny’s has always been very special to me, as I share many values with the brand. So, naturally, I jumped at the opportunity to become the Ginny’s Social Media Analyst. Being part of the team is exciting to me because I get unique insight into the entire business – product selection, photography, catalog development, internet marketing, campaign development, and the most important part, building relationships with YOU!
It is going to be a fun adventure getting to know all of you. And hopefully, you’ll get to know all of us that are devoted to bringing you the Ginny’s you know and love.
We love new recipes, and we especially love trying recipes from our friends and customers! Heidi, our Creative Director, wanted to make something new for the game on Sunday, so she asked our Facebook fans for their best appetizer recipes. We picked our favorite–Lil’ Smokies and Bacon, from Lori–and whipped up a batch on camera to show you just how easy it is to make! It was a nice way to end a week of hard work putting together the fall catalog. Here’s a behind-the-scenes look as we cook up this tasty treat.

They were delicious! No matter who wins this Sunday, we definitely found a winner in this recipe! Thanks for sharing it with us, Lori!
Lori’s Lil’ Smokies
1 package of bacon
2 packages of Little Smokies
brown sugar (about 1/2 c)
1. Preheat oven to 350. Line a baking sheet with foil.
2. Cut the slices of bacon into thirds.
3. Wrap each piece of bacon around a smokie, then put a toothpick through it to hold it all together. Place the smokies on the foil-lined baking sheet.
4. Sprinkle brown sugar over the smokies. Don’t worry if it gets all over the pan–it will all caramelize.
5. Bake at 350 degrees until crisp–about 45 minutes.
