Ghost PotatoesBy Ginny's TeamCelebrate Halloween with creamy and cute ghost potatoes. These adorable little treats are perfect for seasonal dinners or family Halloween parties. They're a nutritious treat to offset all that trick-or-treat candy, but have just enough holiday spirit to make kids and adults smile. Our mashed potatoes recipe is nice and creamy, but you can feel free to substitute this recipe with your favorite recipe. Then just add peas for eyes, and you have spooky little ghost potatoes!
Apple PancakesBy Ginny's TeamIt just so happens that two special events collide - Johnny Appleseed Day and National Pancake day. On September 26th, every year we celebrate the two. On this very day, in 1774, John Chapman (known as Johnny Appleseed) was born in Massachusetts. He is celebrated throughout much of the Midwest for planting apple trees across the area. THANK YOU JOHNNY! What better way to celebrate this special collision of "holidays" than with Apple Pancakes? Apple Pancakes are fluffy and sweet with a touch of cinnamon - ideal for a chilly Sunday morning in the fall. And who doesn't love their home smelling like spicy apples all day?
Pumpkin BreadBy Ginny's TeamWe love banana bread and zucchini bread, but fall will always belong to warm, cinnamon-accented homemade pumpkin bread. If you have some fresh pumpkin, we encourage replacing the canned vegetable with the real thing. Feel free to add half a cup of raisins if you have some lying around, but we've found that this homemade pumpkin bread tastes just as delicious without them. You can also take out the nuts to make this recipe even simpler!
Pumpkin Cornbread MuffinsBy Ginny's TeamMeet your new favorite breakfast food: pumpkin cornbread muffins. In this recipe, the spices really bring out the flavor of the pumpkin. Be generous with the cinnamon and nutmeg! We love the homespun texture of the cornbread combined with the warm, seasonal flavor of the pumpkin puree. These pumpkin cornbread muffins are a delicious pairing with your morning coffee, or a great morning-after-Thanksgiving breakfast for the family.
Microwave SmoresBy Ginny's TeamSometimes a campfire is beyond our reach. For example, sometimes it is winter, or we don’t have any wooden furniture that we can break into pieces for firewood. When this happens, we recommend turning to this microwave s’mores recipe. That way, happiness will be within reach in the form of delicious microwave s’mores.
Microwave Baked PotatoBy Ginny's TeamLife-changing tip: “baked potato” does not always have to mean “baked in the oven.” For example, it could mean “baked in the microwave,” which also means “this healthy and delicious microwave baked potato recipe is about as easy as it gets.”
Potato Chips in the Deep FryerBy Ginny's TeamEveryone here at the Ginny’s House really likes food. A lot. Even though we may whine a little bit when there is so much food from recipe and product testing, we complain a lot more when there isn't food (especially chocolate) around. We also like testing our products and recipes to make sure they are the best they can possibly be before putting them in our catalog. We also learn how we can describe the items to you so you know exactly what you're getting! Last week was no different. We were testing a new fryer and our Ginny’s Brand Double Deep Fryer to see how the new fryer stacked up, and to learn the benefits of the potentially new fryer we were thinking about for our next catalog. Everyone was lined up at the kitchen counter patiently waiting for whatever Laura was pulling out of the Ginny’s Brand Double Deep Fryer next. The Crab Rangoon, Homemade Potato Chips, and Chicken were all fried to a perfect golden brown in the Ginny’s Brand Double Deep Fryer. We especially liked our new Homemade Potato Chip recipe that Laura made with our Ginny’s Brand Kitchen Assistant!
Bacon CornbreadBy Ginny's Team"They" say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. But no one ever said breakfast had to start the day. Breakfast foods aren't just for morning anymore. We have quite a few breakfast recipes that work great for any meal of the day. One recipe that works with any meal is Bacon Cornbread. It's great for breakfast with maple syrup drizzle, with a pad of butter for a mid-morning snack, or as a side for chili on the cooler days. We like to make this recipe using the loaf pan from our new 3-Piece Eco Ceramic Bakeware Set.
