This porcupine pizza isn’t your average pizza—and that’s one of the reasons we love it so much! Instead of using basic, store-bought toppings like sausage or pepperoni, porcupine pizza toppings are homemade meatballs topped with tomato and Worcestershire sauce.
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 tsp. celery salt
1/2 cup white rice, uncooked
1/8 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 cup water
1/8 tsp. pepper
1/3 cup onion, chopped
1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 prepared, fully-cooked pizza crust
Heat oven to 350° F. Mix meat, rice, water, onion, salts, garlic powder and pepper. Scooping by rounded tablespoons, shape the meat mixture into balls and place in an ungreased 8 x 8 baking dish. Stir together tomato sauce and Worcestershire sauce; pour half of the mixture over meatballs. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes. Uncover and pour remaining sauce mixture over meatballs and bake for another 15 minutes.
Place meatballs on pizza dough and pour on some tomato sauce. Add cheese as desired. Bake until pizza is heated through and cheese is melted. Enjoy!
