You just need a deep fryer, pickles, and a few more ingredients to make these deep fried pickles. This summer fair food is the perfect side for a June or July barbecue, and will make a great appetizer or side to burgers, or a stand alone dish. You can even put these pickle chips on top of burgers for an extra delicious addition! We love the unexpected zing of cayenne pepper for a zesty finish, but you can feel free to substitute it with a more mild pepper. Deep fried pickles have never been easier to make!
Oil for frying
1 jar (32 oz.) dill pickle chips, drained
1 1/2 c. seasoned bread crumbs
1/2 t. cayenne pepper
1/2 t. black pepper
1/2 t. garlic powder
- Heat oil to 360° F.
- Pat pickles dry with paper towel.
- Whisk all dry ingredients together in a medium bowl. In a small bowl, whisk the eggs.
- Dip each pickle in the eggs, then into the dry mixture. Drop in the oil for about 1 minute, turning so evenly browned. Drain on a paper towel.
