Yes, I am a real person! Like many of you, I juggle a rewarding career with something even more important to me—my family. My husband and I have three active boys who keep us on the go. Long-time customers have watched them grow up over the years on the front page of the catalog. The years have really flown by—Jackson and Bryan are now in their early 20s, and Geoffrey is finishing up high school.
I got my start in the theater world of New York City. I love the arts and had always planned to work in that community. But, life is full of surprises! After receiving my MBA in Marketing, I suddenly found myself drawn to the creative challenges of the business world.
In 1987, I left the hustle-bustle of New York for the quiet beauty of Monroe, Wisconsin. What a change! But, the challenges of balancing a new career and a young family didn't leave much time for second thoughts. Not that I've had any—I love my job. It has offered many opportunities—allowing me to grow personally and professionally.
Family and friends are very important to me. I enjoy creating a cozy home for everyone to gather for a few laughs and, of course, lots of good food. So, in 1990 I jumped at the chance to create a catalog that offers fun and unique solutions for everyday life. It's been my goal to offer products for the entire home and garden, as well as gifts.
Over the years I've offered different products, but my business philosophy has remained constant: I'm dedicated to bringing you quality and unique finds at an affordable price.
Remaining true to my business principle is one of the reasons my catalog has been so successful. I've also been very fortunate to have a dedicated staff.
